Full job description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Kitchen team at Komodo Resort in Sebayur Island, East Nusa Tenggara on a contract basis. As a Commis, you will be responsible for assisting our experienced chefs in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes for our guests in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment.
What you'll be doing
- Assist the head chef and other cooks with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, dicing and mixing ingredients
- Follow recipes and cooking methods to ensure consistent and high-quality dish presentation
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout each shift
- Monitor stock levels and inform the chef of any shortages or issues
- Support the broader kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests
What we're looking for
- Previous experience working as a Commis or entry-level chef in a similar fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Passion for cooking and a keen eye for detail to ensure consistent dish presentation
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adhere to strict hygiene and safety standards
- Formal culinary training or qualifications in hospitality or catering would be highly regarded
